Wireless Energy Management System

HALO is a groundbreaking solution that transforms the GRIDlink E2 OpenADR virtual end node into a simple yet powerful wireless building and energy management system, seamlessly integrating smart thermostats, analog and digital I/O, and smart plugs with OpenADR 2.0b. This is the perfect solution for commercial and industrial applications, especially where no existing system is in place and traditional solutions would be cost-prohibitive. Additionally, OpenADR incentives can often cover all implementation costs, making HALO an even more attractive option for cost-conscious facilities.

Designed for Small to Midsize Businesses—Scalable for Any Facility

HALO was specifically designed for small to midsize businesses that lack a building management system (BMS), providing an easy-to-deploy, cost-effective solution for energy optimization. However, the system is fully scalable, making it suitable for buildings or campuses of any size. Its open architecture ensures seamless integration with existing or future systems, eliminating vendor lock-in. HALO prioritizes simplicity, offering clear and intuitive charts that provide actionable insights without unnecessary complexity—so anyone can easily understand and manage their energy usage if desired.

Ensures Year-round Benefits

With HALO, businesses can fully participate in OpenADR demand response (DR) programs during the critical four-month DR season, unlocking valuable incentives while helping to stabilize the grid. Throughout the rest of the year, it provides comprehensive building and energy management capabilities, optimizing HVAC systems, monitoring and controlling equipment, and reducing operational costs. This dual-functionality ensures year-round benefits, making HALO a strategic investment for facilities looking to enhance efficiency, reduce energy expenses, and maximize financial returns.

HALO-ST: Smart Thermostat, Reliable, and ADR-Ready

The HALO-ST Smart Thermostat, powered by HALO wireless technology, is an advanced HVAC controller designed for seamless integration with heat pumps, AC units, boilers, furnaces, air handling units (AHU), and PTAC systems. Offering multiple operational modes—including heat, cool, emergency heat, auto, and fan mode—it ensures precise temperature control in diverse building environments.

Built for OpenADR & Independent Operation

HALO-ST is engineered to participate in OpenADR events with unmatched reliability. It connects to the GRIDlink E2-HALO Virtual End Node (VEN), allowing a single VEN to manage and control hundreds of thermostats. This ensures a coordinated, automated response to demand response (DR) events while allowing flexibility—thermostat groups can be designated as non-participating, or users can opt out directly from the faceplate in critical spaces.

Beyond DR, the HALO-ST operates independently, executing intelligent scheduling strategies to optimize HVAC performance year-round. Even when not in an ADR event, it continues to reduce energy costs by managing temperatures efficiently based on pre-set schedules and occupancy patterns.
